May your anchor be tight and your heart be mine. Chapter II
Tumblr media
Note: Hello! Once again, this is an old story of mine that I'm rebooting. Also, if you don't like the ship, don't read it, and if you do read it and have opinions, criticism is welcome, but don't be a prick about it, anyways hope you enjoy the story!
Tagged list - @giveityourworst, if you want to be tagged, just ask!
Warning: teasing, mild cussing, arguing, AK vs VK, VK vs VK, mild flirting, some mild Mal slander, I love her character, but it works for the story, I don't hate her or anything, she was great, and my bad attempt at pirate/British terminology
Summary: It is the day of the VK transfer. All of the Auradon kids are given four VK's to represent, but this time around ten VK's will be coming back to the Isle
Note 2: Some dialogue is from D3. There are a few OCs, so if you don't know those characters, that's why! + new cover if you saw the old one, and are confused, that's why! Another thing I want to add when I'm writing Carlos is that I don't want to show any disrespect to Cameron Boyce or the character, unfortunately I won't be writing much about that character, because it doesn't sit right with me writing about someone who has passed, anyway fly high🕊 Cameron Boyce 🕊
Chapter I here
___________________________________________
Jane and Li Lonnie quickly got their speeches together as they hurried to the entrance of Auradon prep, Li Lonnie furrowed her brows as she read over her speech. "It'd be helpful if we knew who were representing, so our speeches could cater to them better."
She said as she shuffled through some some of her papers, Jane nodding as they finally exited the doors to Auradon Prep. They saw the rest of their party waiting by the limo, Doug quickly opened the door to it, allowing everyone in, and he smiled as he tapped the roof of the limo. "Cya, when you get back!"
What the four AK's noticed immediately was that the limo was decked out in candies and snacks, Charlie reached out and grabbed a chocolate covered cherry as he turned to Carlos and asked. "Why are there so many snacks?"
Carlos, who was currently stuffing a jumbo reeses in his mouth, nodded and began to explain. "Most of the VK's don't have access to much food, and if they do it's not great, so we want them to have something nice for when they arrive to Auradon."
Then Jay continued as he crossed his arms and leaned back against the seat. "Another thing is most VK's are really jumpy right off the Isle, so it's a nice way to keep them calm and distracted."
A long limo ride later, as in four hours later, they finally make it across and through the barrier, but before we got out, Ben asked. "You all have your speeches ready?"
They all nod, but before we could get out, Ben then continued. "We'll be introducing you one by one, so stay in for a little longer."
And with that, the group of five exited the limo, we could hear cheering as each one stepped out. They heard Mal and Evie's voices shout. "We're back!"
Then Jay and Carlos shouted out as they clapped their hands towards the crowd. "But we have guests!"
Ben standing next to Mal at the top of the podium begins to introduce us. "Hello Isle of the Lost, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the daughter of Queen Tiana and King Naveen, Princess Navada of Maldonia."
Navada quickly exited the limo and walked to the podium she was directed to stand on as she waved the people of the Isle. When she got to her podium, Ben continued. "Next, it's my pleasure to introduce you to the soulmate and best friends of Princess Navada, Charlie La Bouff!"
Charlie made his exit as he bowed to the crowd with a charming smile as he got up on the podium next to Navada's, Ben then continued. "It is my honor to introduce the daughter of Fa Mulan and Li Shang, Li Lonnie!"
Jane smiled as she got out of the limo and waved, but then she felt a cold chill run up my spine as she realized that she was next, Jane paled when she heard Ben continue his introduction. "Now for our last, but certainly not least some may say she is the most important to all of our stories, the daughter of Fairy Godmother, Jane Godmother."
Jane carefully made her way out of the limo as she looked to the large crowd of VK's all looking at her hopefully, it's then that she finds her eyes trained onto Dizzy who was nervously looking at her because of how their stories connected, Jane gave her a small smile and wave before getting onto her podium, then Navada started her speech. "We are all so honored to meet all of you, I hope one day we all may get to live in Auradon side by side."
As Navada finished, Charlie began his part of the speech. "I Charlie La Bouff, I am honored to say that all of you can have a chance to be a part of the tourney team of Auradon and have the ability to receive many scholar opportunities on Auradon."
As Li Lonnie began her speech, Jane felt dizzy as she realized that soon all eyes would be on her as the representative of Auradon prep. She let out a little sigh as Li Lonnie ended her speech, Jane carefully looked at her speech one last time before looking out to the crowd as she began to speak. "I am honored to welcome you into Auradon. You will no longer have to hide, steal, or survive to get by in life. Instead, you will be granted freedom and hope, I'm proud to say you all have a place in Auradon."
Jane stepped back as Evie then began the ceremony of who would be brought back to Auradon. "First, I'd like to begin with bringing the granddaughter of Lady Tremaine, daughter of Drizella, my sweet friend, my Dizzy."
Evie pointed to her as random VK's congratulationed her while she squealed out of pure joy before she ran up the stairs to the podium and stood closely too Evie, as Carlos began to announce his pick. "Next is son of Smee come on Squeaky!"
He waved him over as Smee gently pushed him forward towards Carlos, while Squirmy looked at his twin with somberness, but then Jay began to announce his VK. "And no way were splitting up the twins, get over here, Squirmy, bring it in buddy!"
Smee quickly ushered his other son towards Jay and helped him climb the stairs, as Mal began to announce her VK. "But last, but certainly not least, we all picked this girl because we all think she could use a bit of Fairy Godmother's goodness class, give it up for Doctor Facilier's daughter Celia Facilier!"
She smiled before spinning and saying to the group around here. "Yeah, I'm bad."
Before making her way up to Mal, Evie, and Dizzy, then Ben stepped forward. "Now we will be hearing from our guests 'their' VK picks."
"I choose this VK because I feel they could benefit Auradon in more ways, come along Ms. Gwen Gothel!" .Li Lonnie said with a grin as she beckoned her to come stand by her. Then Navada stepped forward as she looked down at the crowd. "I choose this boy because of his great intelligence and honor, the son of Claude Frollo, get up here Paul Frollo!"
The VK boys around him patted his back and shoved him forward towards the podium, and then Charlie waved down at the crowd as he cleared his throat. "I'd like to give the opportunity of a lifetime to Henry Isles."
He tilted his head to tell the boy to come up to the podium, and then everyone's eyes were back on Jane, who nervously rubbed her arms as she gave a shy smile before slowly speaking. "The reason I picked this VK is because of her raw and true resilience and honesty to herself, Uma."
The moment the name left her lips, a group of pirates marched forward with a very unpleased Uma, who currently had a sword pointed up at the podium as she spoke. "Listen here, i don't leave without my crew, and if you think you can just waltz in on our home and pick and choose who gets to leave well, bet your scaly ass wrong Mally!"
Li Lonnie and Jane share a look of uncertainty as they make their way down towards the limos with Navada and Charlie, and then they hear Mal say. "Oh, don't act like a guppy, shrimpi."
Clearly mocking Uma, whose eye slightly twitched at the nicknames, the two went back and forth for a bit, swapping insults before Ben stepped in. "Both of you stop."
But Uma only continued. It was clear she knew how the VK's were really picked to go over the barrier, and clearly, they had bad blood, so she smiled spitefully as she went on. "You think just because you got a fancy ring on your finger and get nice meals, you can walk in act Ike you're the boss? Sorry, Mally, that ship sailed the moment you turned your back on every single kid here and only came back when it was convenient for you."
Once again, the two shares insult back and forth before Ben steps in again.
"Uma, we'll bring your crew." .He says, trying to compromise with her. While the three of them try and sort out their issues, Li Lonnie and Jane look at each unsure of what to do, Li Lonnie whispers. "We can leave now."
Jane nodded as the two watched the three before whispering. "I wish we could."
As she finished that sentence, she let out a small gasp when she felt a cold medal run along her collarbone, and someone said. "Fairy Godmother's wee duckling?"
Carefully turning around, she's met with a devious smirk and bright blue eyes looking down at her, and then another guy throws his arm around the first guys shoulder, and he says. "A pretty little treasure indeed, but I find it a bit odd for Fairy Godmother to allow her only child and daughter at that anywhere near the Isle?"
Jane wasn't sure if he was saying that to himself, but the pirate in front of her seemed to nod as his smirk turned into more of a cheshire grin, wide and earily scary, then he asked. "So what does a ravishing little duckling have business around these parts?"
Before Jane could answer Li Lonnie put herself between her friend and the two pirates, with her arms crossed and a firm glare pointed at the two as she said. "Oi! Stay away from Jane!"
She glared at the two pirates before gently grabbing Jane's arm and leading her back to the limo before gently pushing her inside. The two boys stared while sharing similar smirks before the brunette turned to the blond and said. "Aye! I think we've struck a nerve mate!"
The two boys walked away and back towards Uma to hype her up before finally everyone from Auradon made their way back inside the limo before leaving Ben declared to the group. "We will be returning tomorrow."
The guests let out a shared sigh as they all tired with how the day had gone.

I wish Dizzy, Celia, Squeaky, and Squirmy had had as big of a role in D3 as Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay did in D1.
Celia had a nice role, but Dizzy didn't do much despite having a part in D2, and the Smee twins had what, one line?
Like, have the Smee twins help convince Harry to help Auradon. Or have Dizzy do...I don't know, something. Despite Anthony being a book-only character the movie could get him involved and then Dizzy would convince him.
Better yet, have an AU where the four of them have their own important adventure. That's the next movie I'd want instead of whatever Rise of Red was.

On the Isle, all cecaelias (Ursula, Morganna, Uliana, etc) are in their fake human forms, they were forced into the transformation before being sealed there and they don't have the magic needed to change back into their natural form. Over the years, this unnatural form has put a lot of strain on their bodies, resulting in chronic pain. Even Uma and the Smees feel it, even though they never had access to their natural forms, because they're being forced to hold an unnatural form. It's very inhumane.

a pirate by any name +
"Samson Smee?" Ben asks, tapping the name on the list. “Is he related to Captain Hook’s sidekick?”
Evie leans closer on instinct. She doesn’t need to see the paperwork to know who Sammy is, but it’s a habit now to press close to Ben and tilt her head just-so to see the paper lists and forms when they’re working on VK matters together. It a comfort, to know that she’s not in this fight alone, and Ben certainly hasn’t complained about the increased contact with his girlfriend’s girlfriend. “Yes. He goes by Sammy. He's probably not going to want to come over without his brothers, but we can still make the offer."
"Can we bring the brothers?"
The last time Evie saw the littlest Smee children, they were sobbing over a pirate’s body before the adult crew members tipped them over the harbor for the sharks to take their share. They couldn’t have been more than seven or eight years old, and what Evie remembers the most is the way their tears had carved clean tracks out of the dirt on their faces.
She hums her consideration. “They're young. Elementary age, maybe ten or so now. I think they'd be okay to come, but they're shy, and I'm not sure how they'd do at school. As families go, I think all the Smee boys would do well in terms of goodness integration, but they may be difficult to integrate on a social level unless they can come over with someone they already know."
"Alright. Who do you think they'd do well with?"
Their father.
“Their father,” Evie says, bitingly, before she reigns her tongue back in again. Not that it matters around Ben, who is handsome and kind and just listens when Evie needs to shout at somebody about the horrible unfairness of it all, but it’s good practice. She’s a politician now, just like her mother wanted. She’s got to be the best, because she’s an isle brat, and she cannot afford to make mistakes. Anything she says, anything she does wrong will reflect on the isle as a whole, so she’s got to be flawless. She will prove herself not just for her mother’s sake, but because she’s got a thousand hungry kids waiting for her to mess up and snip their only thread of hope at getting off the isle. “But that’s exactly the problem. Sammy has a crew, but the twins just tag along with him or their father all the time, and I don't think Auradon Prep, or any other high school for that matter, wants to have a pair of kids following their new high school student everywhere,” Evie sighs. She’s so fucking tired.  “We have schools on the isle, obviously, but Sammy doesn’t attend very often. The pirates usually stick with their ships and learn what they need from the older members of their crews. It’s not a traditional Auradon education, but the pirates are actually some of the better educated kids on the isle. It works for them, but it won’t work if we bring them here.”
Ben puts a warm hand on her arm. It’s all Evie can do not to sink into the touch. She’s so, so tired of this. Of begging for any scrap they can get. Any concession to the norm comes at the price of another sliver of her own sanity, it feels like, and there’s so many children who won’t be able to handle the pressure of Auradon Prep, who will need more exceptions than the system is set up to give them, who won’t be able to thrive without the attention that nobody is able to give them.
“We can ask the charter school,” Ben says softly. “There's integrated schools, all ages sort of places. My mother’s village has one. We can reach out. She provides a grant each year, they might decide they own me a favor.”
Evie presses into his touch. Gods below, but it’s nice to have somebody who knows better than her the networks of favors and family histories that keep the kingdom governments running. “Or if we could find a family who would be willing to keep them together and send them to separate day schools, they might get used to being on their own like that,” Evie suggests. “Sort of slow and steady. A gradual break.”
Ben makes a note, a shorthand scribble on the side of his list. Evie’s eyes are swirling too much to read it exactly, but she knows their code. Foster family, special education, sibling unit. That’s what they need to know in order to place the Smee boys. A whole life, reduced down to three shorthand scribbles. “That could work. What are the brothers called?"
Evie laughs, exhausted. “Squeaky and Squirmy, but I believe their birth names are Sawyer and Simon. They're not bad kids, they're just shy. They would do better here, I think. Where there’s less adults around to bully them into staying quiet.”
Ben slips his hand up her arm, around her shoulders, pulls until she can rest her head on the side of his own. He’s warm and sturdy and if they weren’t in the middle of important work, Evie could fall asleep just like this. And then cause a scandal when the service staff come in to wake them both up, and find the young king sleeping on a girl who is not his girlfriend, no matter how many interests and people they share between them.
"We can ask. If Sammy's willing to come over without them, who do you think we could bring with him?"
"Anthony. Dizzy's cousin. They run with the same crew, and they'd do well together. I would say that we should bring over Harriet, but knowing her, she's not going to come over unless we can get the rest of her crew out first, and she's got one of the biggest crews on the isle."
Ben skims the list of kids, running his pen down the side as he goes. “Harriet?"
She’s not on the list.
“Hook,” Evie explains. “She’s one of the eldest pirate kids. We didn’t add her to the list because she won’t come until we can bring her crew with her, and we can’t promise that yet.”
“Hook.” Ben echoes, voice flat. “As in—?”
He’s encountered Harry, and came away with almost as much vitriol for him as Mal.
Evie presses herself closer to him, so that he can feel her heat, and maybe remember that they’re in her office, not the wet deck of a ship. That he’s not tied to a mast, waiting to die anymore. “Yes. There are three Hook kids, and they all hate each other. We only hate Harry, the middle one, so Harriet and CJ are our allies. Sort of an enemy-of-our-enemy kind of thing."
"Harry's the one who's involved with Uma.” Ben says, so softly that Evie can barely hear the words. “The one who tried to kill me.”
"Yes. He's....” Evie hesitates. She’s safe to hesitate here, in her own little office that smells like citrus wood polish and old papers. She doesn’t have to preform just for Ben, because she can trust him. Her sweet, kind king.
Trust doesn’t mean she wants to tell him everything. Understatement is a tool that Evie is well practiced at wielding, so she lets herself close her eyes, and forges ahead. “He’s a lot. We don't like him."
Ben smiles, small and sweet and almost sad. "I take it there's a history there?"
"Just a bit." Evie agrees. "There's been a few incidents."
"Would it be useful for me to know?"
Evie breathes in, and out, and relaxes her shoulders in an attempt to let go of the anger that she's still holding in her body. "I suppose so. Yes."
"Do you want to tell me?"
Honesty is the foundation of good relationships. "No."
Ben nods. He's too good to them. "You could tell me later. If you'd like."
The memory of blood spills over Evie's hands. The slippery, awful feeling of insides that were never supposed to become outsides against her leather gloves. The gritty feeling of dirt in her eyes that she can't rub out, blown up from the shattered crates they'd been aiming to take back from the pirates. The blood though, that's the part that she can't forget. She's been a medic since she first started sneaking out of her mother's house, but she's usually restricted herself to broken arms and legs and noses, some shallow stitches, fever medication, abortifacients and concussion care for the kids who can't take the dubious mercy of the barrier's spell. She's done medications for the kids who cared to try them, all sorts of poultices and remedies for the ailments that are within her power to fix.
She's never been able to fix someone once they start bleeding out.
She knows the theory of it. Blood transfusions, tourniquets, ways of stopping arteries without killing the patient. The problem is that she's never had to do it firsthand, because they've always known that the spell on the barrier was there to catch them before they died for real. The spell heals the killing blows, so it's easier to lean into the death than it is to staunch critical bleeding. Evie's killed kids herself, those who wouldn't die quick enough on their own, so that they could have the mercy of the barrier and the spell healing them back into a body marginally less broken than the one they'd left from.
"He killed us." Evie manages, around the memory of blood spilling up from her throat. "They made it a game. Him and Uma and their crew. We killed each other."
They've told Ben enough. He can figure out the rest, and he's smart and good and kind, so he does, and she can see him go white when he figures it out.

Hi can we talk about the mental health of VKs for a second?
Cause they all at least have CPTSD and wouldn't be shocked if quite a few of them have personality disorders.
King Adam locked up a bunch of "villans," a good chunk of which probly have mental illness themselves, and never looked back.
Even if VKs didn't inherit any mental illness, they are most likely suffering from Failure to Thrive, which happens when babies or children aren't given enough food or touch.
I almost guarantee that every VKs has experienced a form of abuse or neglect, even those with good parents (i.e., Facilier sisters, the Smees, and arguably Tremaines) whether it be from resentment, weakness, or busyness.
Not a single one of these kids are okay and I can and will go into detail of the various mental illnesses they might have

May your anchor be tight and your heart be mine. Chapter I
Tumblr media
Note: Hello! This is an old story from the past. I think I came up with the story in 2022, or 2023, and haven't built on it much since, but I want to give it a proper home, and hopefully I'll find some kind of inspiration to continue it.
Warnings: AK and VK relationship, Poly, and soulmate au. My bad attempts are pirate terminology/language and southern/Louisiana terminology
Summary: Jane feels lonely and confused. She is unsure as to whom she could be bound with, and her soulmate mark doesn't have much either, but today, she is helping Chad like always.
Note 2: If you're still waiting for 'Their good fairy' part 3-part 2 castlecoming, I hope to start on it soon, but when it come to that story In particular, I want some ideas and visions to be from my co-founder/creator @giveityourworst, since they helped me come up with the ideas for the story and 'P.S I still love you', so I'll be updating soon, but I'm gathering ideas, and once again go show them some love!
___________________________________________
Jane sat with Evie and Doug, preparing notes from the history of spells and magic, then Evie tapped her pencil against the wooden table. "If we already know this, why do we have to take notes?"
The blunette said, looking from her notebook to Jane and then to Doug, who playfully shrugged at her and said. "It's not so bad, Eves."
Jane watched as the two bantered back and forth. She let out a soft sigh as she ran a finger over her soulmate mark. It didn't quite make sense to her, a pirate flag, but instead of a skull, it was a hunters rifle, then she heard, Doug say. "Maybe your soulmate is like a mix of Peter Pan and Robin Hood?"
Jane smiled as she allowed the thought to cross her mind, but she wasn't sure how a mix of Peter Pan and Robin Hood could really make this kind type of mark, then Evie piped in. "You know I couldn't see the color green till I met Doug."
The group continued to jot down notes for the history of spells and magic, but before they could finish, Chad made his way over to the picnic table they were seated at. "Jane, there you are!"
He quickly made his way over while fixing his hair and then stood in front of Jane.
"I have to look perfect for Audrey, and I need your help since you're a big part of my story."
Jane rolled her eyes at his dramatics, gathered her things, and followed after the entitled prince, but this is how her life had been forever, constantly bailing him out of trouble or getting whatever Chad wanted, because in a way she was his fairy god mother. "What do you need me to do?"
Chad quickly opened his locker and pulled out a series of items, a banner, paint, nails, and a hammer. "I need this set up by the Enchanted lake, and I need this finished by the end of the day."
He informed the fairy as he handed her each item, Jane gave him a wry smile, and as she made her way off the school, she passed by Li Lonnie, Navada, and Charlie la Bouff. "Need help with that, Janie?"
Li Lonnie asked as the group approached the struggling fairy who was trying not to drop everything. "Yeah, I guess so."
Jane said carefully as Charlie and Navada took a few things from her. "I can't believe he's let a beautiful young lady carry all this rubbish on her lonesome."
Charlie said as he carried the pain buckets and hammer to the Enchanted Lake while the girls helped Jane carry the banner, Jane pursed her lip as she listened to Charlie. "Chad's just been pampered his whole life. He can't exactly help it."
Jane said as they finally reached their destination, Li Lonnie helped hold the banner in place while Charlie hammered the nails in place, then Navada and Jane took over painting the banner.
Li Lonnie and Navada share a look after thinking over what Jane said, and then Li Lonnie gently touches Jane's hand. "And his mother is Cinderella. She was basically a slave for most of her life before Prince Charming."
Navada nodded to what Li Lonnie said and stepped forward. "Honey, you really need to realize he just likes to take advantage of you because he thinks you're supposed to fix his story."
Jane nodded, unsure of what to say. This had been her entire life, helping Chad. Her mother never said it was her calling in life to be his fairy godmother, but everyone else around her basically compared her to her mother. Any chance they got.
Snapping out of her train of thought, she helped the group put everything away and take a step back to look at their creation. "Chad owes you one for this because he expected you to do this all alone."
Li Lonnie said as she checked her phone. "Ben sent an email out, there sending more VK's over, there debating sea side VK's or the city VK's."
The group turned their heads to look at Li Lonnie with confusion, then Navada's phone buzzed, signaling she'd gotten a notification. "I also got that email. Why would Ben send us emails about bringing new VK's over?"
And so it went on Charlie's phone. I got an email, and then Jane got one. The group showed each other the emails they'd each received, each being a little different.
Li Lonnie took each phone and looked closely at each of the emails carefully. "Mine has some hints about bravery and determination, Navada and Charlie's talks a bit about soulmates, and Jane's is about being the fairy godmother and the wand."
Li Lonnie said as she finished scrolling through everyone's phones and handed them back. "Do you think anyone else got emails like this?"
She asked as she looked to each person in the group, Navada hums as she puts a finger under her chin, Charlie puts his hands in his pocket as he sways back and forth in thought, and Jane takes a seat on one of the stone steps while fiddling with the end of her periwinkle dress.
The group tired of waiting and thinking near the Enchanted lake make their way back to Auradon Prep, and order lunch, Jane takes a bite of her sub as the group still tries to come up with theories on why they got sent different emails about the upcoming event. "Maybe they sent personalized emails to everyone?"
Charlie suggested as he plucked the olives from his salad, while Navada shook her head at his idea. "Why would they send the entire student body personalized emails about the VK's transfer?"
He shrugs before bringing his focus back on his salad, then Li Lonnie lets out a gasp as if she's solved an ongoing investigation. "What if we're going as representatives?"
She seemed rather excited as she smiled at the group and waved her pen around. The rest of the group nodded to what she said. "I mean, think about it. we're all sent personalized emails around the same time a few minutes apart, each having to do with us or our parents, strength and bravery representatives, my parents, and soulmates fit not just Navada's parents, but Navada and Charlie, and Jane's is self explanatory, the wand, and fairy godmother."
Li Lonnie explained her theory further before shoving a french fry in her mouth, Jane pursed her lips as she processed what Li Lonnie just said. "That's actually a really good idea, but what if that's not it?"
The group continued to go back and forth on the possibilities of getting the emails before they finally plucked up the courage to go find Ben and Mal.
It took nearly an but after searching the school done they finally ran into Mal and Ben, Li Lonnie quickly dashed over to them and said. "Why did we get sent emails about the VK transfer?"
The two turn to Li Lonnie and the rest of the group as they approach, Navada was the second person to question them. "Yeah, what do we have to do with the transfer, we aren't high officials, or have important royal duties yet, and Jane isn't a true fairy godmother yet."
Mal and Ben looked at each other, realizing they had much to explain to the group, Ben flashes them a smile as he says. "Right, we picked the four of you as representatives of Auradon."
The group looks at each other, some sharing confused looks, and then Jane pitches in. "But aren't you the representative of Auradon?"
The group looks back at the couple, Ben lets out a sigh as he nods his head. "Yes, but I represent Auradon as a country, I don't represent individuals, Li Lonnie is a prime example of our military, Navada and Charlie represent the Auradon soulmate system, and Jane represents our stories, how we got here in the first place."
The group looks at each with confused looks again, then Charlie pipes in. "That's not individualism. That's more of our countries systems grouped together."
In this moment, Mal realized Ben wasn't doing them any favors and pitched in. "You see, we also want to introduce new VK's to people of Auradon before they get here because when I first came over, we're very stand offish, and at times rude, it just makes more sense to get them comfortable around Auradon people to get them to meet before arrival."
The group still confused decided just to go along with what the couple was saying by nodding and smiling, Ben clapped his hands together and stepped forward. "The transfer is next month. You all need to prepare individual speeches, and we will tell you who you will be bringing from the Isle the day we get there."
Li Lonnie carefully wrote down what he said before taking a picture and sending it to the rest of the group who were simply nodding.
After a while of Mal and Ben explaining how the event will go or should go, the group finally parts ways with Navada and Jane heading back to their dorm, while the others go about their day, Navada quickly grabs a notebooks and pen, before sitting next to Jane on her bed. "So how does one give a speech in front of thousands of people who are heavily watching them in the hopes of coming here?"
Navada asked as she stared desperately at Jane for advice as the fairy had given many speeches in the past in front of big groups, Jane let out a soft sigh as she pulled her hair up into a messy bun. "Well I suppose we start with what we're representing?"
The two spent hours writing, scraping, writing, and scraping until they finally got an outline of what they should talk about, but meanwhile, miles and miles away was a certain pirate whistling as he walked around the Jolly Roger and his name was Harry Hook. "You can clean up bette'r then that you slimy gits!"
He hollered to his pirate crew, who all yelled 'Aye!' Back to him, he let a cheshire grin spread across his face as he watched his crew scrub the Jolly Roger clean, one of his most prized possessions aside from his father's hook.
Then came aboard Gil along with the two wee lads, Squeaky and Squirmy, Harry's favorite lads made his way over to the three and adjusted Squeaky's glasses. "They won't work if you don't wear em' right."
He gently told the boy as he ruffled his long hair before turning his attention back to the crew, especially to the crew members scrubbing the canons. "Do I need to make any of you walk the plank today?"
He asked the group as he crossed one arm and brought the other one with the hook up close to his face, he gives them a cheshire grin as they quickly shook their heads and said. "No, Captain!"
Everyone pauses when they hear familiar boots and click their way up till their at the head of the ship, and they hear a voice say. "What's my name?"
The crew, along with Harry and Gil, all repeat. "Uma!"
The only ones who remain quiet are Squeaky and Squirmy who don't often speak at all unless their alone or around small groups of people, Uma makes her way down the stairs and puts her arms around the two lads. "Why don't you two boys go play along in Harry's cabin while I have a little chat with Harry and Gil?"
She tells the boys and pats their heads before they run off to Hook's former cabin that was now Harry's. Once the twins were out of hearing range, Uma turned back with her arms crossed and furrowed brows. "Guess what? Mal decided she'd bring more VK's on over to Auradon."
The two men looked at each other, now realizing what was bothering Uma, Gil carefully placed a hand on her shoulder and gently squeezed. "It's alright, I mean maybe we won't get picked?"
He suggested before pulling his hand back, while Harry processed what she said before saying. "I thought you said it didn't bother you anymore?"
Uma let's out a sad sigh as she leaned against the railing and looked out to the sea that they couldn't sail because of the barrier. "Because they pick willy nilly while they know for a fact there are kids here who actually need that lifestyle they have over there, I mean think of Squeaky and Squirmy they were born here, they don't know the outside world at all, at least we can say we're born on that side."
The two nodded as they listened to her, as the mood grew more somber as she explained what truly upset her about the Isle, the transfer, and a picking. "I mean, if I had been able to get that stupid King to fall in love with me, I could've gotten us all out of here, but clearly that didn't work, and then they finally found me and threw me back in."
They watched as Uma grew more angry as she continued, before letting out a long sigh and tilting her head back. "But don't worry, we'll find a way out eventually, and when we do we'll make her regret it."
The two men looked at each as they realized they had a new journey a foot.

more than anything
This is the Hurt/Comfort version, the second one will becoming soon, but both are Canon. They both happen often for him, afterall.
Sammy sat alone in the cabin, double checking inventory counts and crew reports. The words ever so slightly swimming. It was going on 48 hours with no rest in sight for him. Not when Harriet had disappeared again.
She will be back, she always is. Her bloodshot blown out eyes, ever so slightly slurred words, and bruises marking her skin will always confirm to him where she was. As if Diego disappearing at the same time hadn’t already. He always followed her after all.
Until then he’ll pick up the slack. He always did. One day she’ll pay him back.
The door creaked open.
Sammy looked up, blinking spots out of his eyes, before he saw it. The mop of white hair. One of his brothers, shaking, dried tears on his cheeks.
“Silas? What’s wrong?” His voice was soft, a tone reserved only for his brothers.
Silas’s face twisted, hands wringing together before he rushed forward at a nod from Sammy.
His voice was quiet, nearly silent and cracking as the words stumbled out. “I saw her again. Saw it again.”
Sammy’s face fell, sadness creeping into his eyes at the reminder, before opening his arms, waiting for his brother to enter them before squeezing him tight. It was always hard to remember their mother. The bittersweet of the last person who had protected them. It didn’t help that the anniversary was coming up. The twins had it worse, having been what she was defending when she was killed. He hadn’t been there to protect them, had failed at the thing their mother had drilled into him since before they were even born. Even after all these years, his mother still haunted him. Whispers of pride and disgust mixing in his ears.
Silas clinged to him, tears returning to his eyes, a sob breaking free now that he felt safe.
He pulled the younger into his lap, whispering sweet nothings. “It’s okay. You’re not there anymore. I’m here now.”
His younger brother hid his face and shrunk into him, as if trying to disappear from the world.
“Would you like to stay while I finish these reports?” Feeling a nod against his neck, Sammy returned to his work.
He pored over everything, moving quickly yet effectively. His brother is a great motivator for finishing. Checking over the last of his notes, he tucked everything away according to Harriet’s system. She’ll end up “checking over it” later before implementing the necessary changes. It’s what they always did. She’s the captain afterall, the crew can’t know how much Sammy’s pulling the strings. They would mutiny, the blood too tempting for the sharks that walk across their planks.
Satisfied, Sammy stood up, making sure his now sleeping brother was secure in his arms as he walked towards his quarters where Sebastian currently slept. Well, where he assumed he was sleeping, because when he entered the room sleepy eyes blinked open.
“Sammy? Is that- is that you? Where’s Silas?”
“Shh, We are both right here Seb. It’s okay. Go back to sleep, okay?”
Watery eyes stared into his as he set Silas down. A hand reaching out for him.
“Stay. Don’t go. Please. I- I miss you.”
His heart broke a little. He had been so stressed out due to Harriet, he had neglected his brothers. He was no better than his father.
“I’m not leaving. I’ll be right here all night.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
Sebastian’s hand retracted as Sammy laid beside his brothers, reaching over Silas to touch the youngest of them all, reassuring them both. Harriet may return at any moment, yet even she would understand that they came first. Family always came first.

Mr. Smee would be the type of dad that says he's "master of the house" and that his kids all fear their ferocious buccaneer father, than the kids run to Smee extreme joy saying "Papa" as they affectionately tackle him!
Smee isn't very good at being evil, ha!
Absolutely!! I mean that's straight up canon basically from the book/play, that Smee thinks he's a fearsome pirate and kids just love him instinctively, and sadly it doesn't really get touched on in the movies, which is a shame cuz it's hilarious and sweet

More details about how the Isle kids cannot process or interpret emotions....

Yes to all of these.
Ginny doesn't even know what she's feeling.
Mal was raised to be a perfect copy of her mother. But she doesn't want to be her mother, she hates her mother, but she doesn't know what else she is besides a mini-Maleficent, so she hates herself too. Anything that's close to her, she pushes away, rejects, makes them as unlike her as possible. She did it with Maddy. She did it with Uma. She would have done it with Evie, eventually, if they hadn't gone to Auradon.
The only way Jay ever earned his father's approval was through stealing. Even years later, he'll habitually steal little trinkets to gift to Lonnie without even noticing.
Evie doesn't know how to have any relationship with anyone that isn't seducing a prince.
Sammy Smee was raised in an violent environment full of anger and shouting. Even once he was on Harriet's ship, well, Harriet also gets angry, and also shouts, because she was raised in that same environment. Sammy can't understand anything that isn't like that.
Freddie and Celia don't trust anything that's for free. Everything has to be for something. Everything is in exchange for something. No one is simply "friends" with anyone, they have to be getting something out of it. It's only a matter of figuring out what, and making sure you won't be left at a disadvantage. (And it can be inferred that Freddie and Celia had one of the better childhoods on the Isle, so if this is their view on relationships, imagine everyone else's!)
Squeaky and Squirmy trust Sammy to be their provider, their teacher, their caregiver, and no one else. They don't know how to relate to anyone who isn't him. They just sort of shut down. Not with their father, who loved them but never tried to protect them, not like Sammy did. At least Sammy tried. Not with the Hook siblings, who were always getting involved in various dangerous shenanigans and who scare them, just the tiniest bit, even though they also help them and take care of them. No one but Sammy.
Dizzy....Dizzy has two examples: Anthony and Lady Tremaine. (Her mother never even pretended to love her. Her aunt was too beaten down to show it.) Anthony loves her, and everyone knows this. But Anthony was raised to be a lord on an Isle full of the dregs of society, an Isle where everyone ridicules those with pretenses to greatness. Yet his grandmother insisted, and he doesn't know how to show anything but his facade. He tells Dizzy he loves her, and he does, but he speaks coldly, strictly, harshly. He rarely, if ever, shows anger. No outbursts of emotion; hardly any emotion at all. No raising his voice. No playing games, no hugs, none of the things Dizzy would like to do. And Lady Tremaine....she really barely feels any emotion at all, not anymore. Of course she loves Dizzy, she says. She's her grandmother. What kind of grandmother wouldn't love her granddaughter? If only Dizzy would do her chores quicker, better, quieter. If only she would behave well. Then she would surely show Dizzy that she loved her, more than just saying "Of course I love you Dizzy" without even a smile and sending her off to the salon. Or so Dizzy believes, anyway. Anthony has inherited far more of his behavior and mannerisms from his grandmother than he would like to believe.
And Claudine. You see, Frollo usually does not lose his temper. He rarely shouts or rages. He prides himself on keeping perfect control on his emotions. And so Claudine doesn't associate loud noises or shouting with his anger. No, she associates frighteningly calm voices, in an even tone, with no expression, excoriating her with the harshest of words. And of course she thinks she should be hurt. Anyone who cares about her would hurt her as a punishment, so she should learn to do better. She doesn't like it, of course, but it's what has to be done, right? Right?

Who are the most useless characters in all of descendants and why?
I don't really think any of them are useless, just not very fleshed out.
But if I were to pick a character to take out of the movies, even though I hate to say it, it would be Lonnie.
Now I love Lonnie!!! But the plot can move without her. The biggest thing she does in the first movie is go to the kitchen and have the moment with the VKs, and while she's there in the second film it could stand without her small storyline. Honestly, it would have been nice for Audrey to have had a role in the second film to build up to the third movie more, which Lonnie isn't even in.
After that would be the Smee twins, who are only there to be the other two VKs. There was potential, especially since they should know Harry, but it wasn't used and that just made them be... there... doing nothing.
As for the books, I can't really say that anyone is useless because it all adds to the worldbuilding and unlike the movies with their time limits, you're able to mention more characters.
